Alliance Files Reply Comments with the FCC

On April 1, the Alliance for Community Media filed these Reply Comments (pdf) with the FCC in Proceeding 09-13, which concerns three petitions for declaratory ruling on how public, educational and governmental access programming is delivered on cable system.

The lead petition was filed by the Alliance and other organizations and seeks a declaratory order that AT&T’s method of delivering PEG channels over Its U-verse system is contrary to the federal law and FCC rules.  Another petition was filed by the City of Dearborn and other cities in Michigan and seeks a declaratory order on issues related to the way in which Comcast has digitized PEG channels and assigned them to channel locations that will require many subscribers to lease additional equipment in order to view such channels.
